'YÜZDE YÜZ MOBİL' SERGİSİ 6 HAZİRAN’DA AÇILDI

Konseptini Yeşim Ağaoğlu’nun yaptığı, koordinasyonu ise Hülya Küpçüoğlu ve ARTIK Mekân tarafından gerçekleşen, cep telefonlarıyla çekilen fotoğrafların yer aldığı “Yüzde Yüz Mobil” sergisi, 6 Haziran’da Karaköy'deki ARTIK mekânda açıldı. Sergiye Türkiye’den ve yabancı ülkelerden 60’a yakın sanatçı katıldı. 

Cep telefonları her zaman ve her yerde taşınabilir oldukları için günlük yaşantımızın vazgeçilmez bir parçası haline geldiler. Cep telefonu ile tesadüfen karşılaştığımız bir olayı ya da görüntüyü kolayca saptayabiliyoruz. Cep telefonları kullanım kolaylığı, kolay ulaşılabilirliği, diğer teknolojik sistemlerin yanında ekonomik açıdan da uygun olması nedeniyle günümüzün yükselen trendlerindendir. Sanatçılar da fotoğraf makinesi ve videonun yanı sıra artık cep telefonlarıyla da fotoğraf çekmeyi tercih edebiliyorlar.      

Projede, kullanımı ve popülaritesi gittikçe artan mobil telefonlarının bir iletişim aracı olmasının yanı sıra, yan işlevlerinden birisi olan fotoğraf çekme ( belgeleme ) özelliği de vurgulandı.

                              'Pink Dialogues' Exhibition

The artist’s interest in many concepts has led her to use a broad selection of materials in

her work, extending from oil paint to textiles, to express both her inner and outer world.

As the impressions she absorbs from the outside world shape her art intensively, her

inner world increases in significance. Her work can therefore be said to be the

representation of the dialogue between the outer world and her inner life.

Iskender uses collage to convey the themes she wishes to get across. She views the world

in fragments: as she amalgamates these fragments within a meaningful framework, she

attributes a special sense to each. Thus every individual fragment in her work contributes

to a meaningful whole.

Her Pink Dialogues exhibition reveals how London, where the artist has been living for

one year, has come to play a paramount role in her art. Her trips between London and her

home of Istanbul each have a story to tell. The interaction between these two cultures –

along with the art of Louise Bourgeois, which she encountered  in London for the first

 time - has had a massive impact on Pink Dialogues. The title of the exhibition – Pink –

derives from the colour of Bourgeois’ most recent works. Indeed, seeing these pieces has

 had a significant impact on Iskender in terms of her artistic attitude.

The colours used by the artist play a symbolic and important role in Pink Dialogues. She

substitutes colour for the term ‘other’.  She sees living in London - one of the world’s

most cosmopolitan cities - as an opportunity to observe the meeting point of many

  

different cultures. Along with the pink - the dominant colour of the series - the artist has

 also started to incorporate yellow, in order to emphasise this feeling of colourfulness and

 multiplicity.
