Young artist in the Exhibition of the Royal Academy

Known for its worldwide exhibitions, the Royal Academy of Arts is holding the 241st Summer Exhibition with the participation of a young Turkish artist named Nurdan Iskender with her piece titled “Nomad”.

Mihrişah Safa

The exhibition is open at the Royal Academy of Arts between June 8 and Agust 16. Together with the works of famous and multidimensional artists such as Damien Hirst, George Baselitz, Cy Twombly and Tracey Emin, the pieces of young artists and academicians were also shown in the exhibition.
From painting to sculpture, from installation to video art, more than a thousand works were shown at the exhibition which was crowded with visitors from the first day.
The Turkish artist, Nurdan Iskender was also accepted to the multidimensional and international exhibition with her work named “Nomad”. The young artist opened her first painting exhibition in London last year and succeeded to grab the interests of art circles with her 25 paintings titled “Pink Dialogues”.
Most of the exhibition was composed of fabric and paper mixture collage works. Iskender said she reflected her observations over a year and even though it has been a short period it was a nice experience for herself.
Nurdan Iskender said it will be a significant experience to be accepted to the Royal Academy of Arts and added that she sees painting as a means of expression and tries to establish a visual connection between the visual and ideological worlds by using the plastic language of words and colours.
